CHRONICLE:
A match, that of the Wanda Metropolitano of Madrid, which immediately started on the right tracks for the Reds. In fact, the team led by Jurgen Klopp took just over a hundred seconds to find the lead. It was the usual Mohamed Salah who made the move to turn a penalty kick awarded by the referee Skomina for a foul by Sissoko in the area on Mané’s attempt to cross. Stunned by the immediate disadvantage, Tottenham took several minutes before he could raise his head. The Spurs have tried to raise their center of gravity by exploiting especially the shots of Son, in fact, however, they are exposed to the counterattack of the Liverpool which, having spaces available, has become dangerous with what is one of the two best weapons: the counter-attack. To make themselves really dangerous in a first fraction however stingy of emotions were above all the Reds that before with Alexander-Arnold and then with Robertson, have gone not far from the doubling.
In the second half Tottenham returns to the field with the right attitude, but Liverpool gives the impression of being able to withstand the attempted return of the opponents without particular worries. As already happened in the first half the Spurs gain meters on the field, but leave grasslands in which Salah can unleash its speed. The Reds try on some occasions to close the games, at the time of conclusion but often lack in the final choice. Shortly after the hour of play Pochettino redesigns his team by inserting the most offensive Lucas Moura for Winks, but the attempted forcing does not bear the expected results. Despite having to put his teeth on some occasions, Liverpool, supported by an attentive Alisson, not only manages to keep the advantage, but two minutes from the 90th minute, he also finds the second goal thanks to Origi. For Tottenham, the first Champions League final of its history closes in the most bitter way possible, but Liverpool, one year after the tears of Kiev, can finally return to raising Europe’s most important trophy.
